ME AND ORSON WELLES
Wednesday, November, 17th. 7.30 Director – Richard Linklater 2008 114mins
In 1937, high school student Richard Samuels (Zac Ephron) is offered a tiny part in the Mercury Theatre production of “Julius Caesar” starring and directed by a young and dictatorial Orson Welles ( an incredible performance by British actor Christian McKay) long before he became famous as Citizen Kane. Richard falls for the resident beauty played by Claire Daines but starts to wonder if his efforts are worth it when Welles’ unpredictability affects the production’s future. Both light-hearted and enjoyable, this is a film full of charm with terrific performances.
